Joan Moorehead, an Admissions Counselor at Monroe Community College, is a strong advocate for education. Joan believes that everyone should have access to a quality education and promotes the benefits of a good education throughout the community. Joan has many community affiliations such as Monroe County/City of Rochester Youth Council, United Ways African American Leadership Program, True Networking Thursdays, Action for a Better Community Milestones Advisory Council, Urban League Black Scholars, RIT AALANA Alumni Council and First Genesis Baptist Church Scholarship Chairperson. Joan has been a member of the board since January 2013. and is excited about contributing her expertise on education. Joan has an associate’s degree from MCC in Data Processing, bachelor degree in Applied Arts and Sciences from RIT and a master degree in Adult Education from Buffalo State. Joan, a lifelong Rochester resident, has lived in the Northeast Section neighborhood all her life.
